WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor opposed to denominations — only the over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that could lead to needless division.

More About CCA

  • The Bible is the Word of God, complete, fully inspired, without error and the infallible rule of faith and practice [1]

  • We believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all things. [2]

  • There is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three distinct persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory [2]. God the Father is infinite, eternal, personal, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ [3].

  • Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, and will return visibly to earth. [4]

  • The Holy Spirit comes forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ [5]. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ upon conversion and is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide [6]. The gifts of the Holy Spirit is a distinct and separate experience to that of regeneration, to enable and empower believers to be a bold and more effective witness. The supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is love, the fruit of the Spirit. The exercise of these gifts are valid for today if conducted accordingly to the instructions given to us [7].

  • All people are sinners by both nature and choice, and therefore, under God’s righteous judgment. Yet, God in His mercy and grace freely offers salvation, redemption, and forgiveness to all who come to Jesus Christ by faith, trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ on the Cross once and for all. [8]

  • We believe in a literal Heaven and Hell -- that all those who place their faith, hope, and trust in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord. Those who reject Jesus’ gift of salvation will spend eternity separated from the Lord [9]

  • We believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all who are born again are a part of the Body of Christ [10].

  • Water baptism of believers is an ordinance of the church instituted by Jesus Christ. Baptism cannot save you, but believers are commanded by the Lord to be baptised. Therefore, water baptism is an important part of our obedience as Christians. A person must be born again, trusting Jesus Christ for their salvation to have any meaning. Baptism is for any person who has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior [11].

  • Communion (also known as The Lord's Supper) is an ordinance given by Jesus Christ to commemorate His death; to signify, seal, and apply to believers all the benefits of the new covenant. Communion in the church not only meets Jesus’ commandment, but it also contributes to the unity of believers. Believers ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ, eat and drink judgment on themselves [12].

  • We believe in the universal church as the living spiritual body of Christ, where every believer is a vital member with unique gifts. Following the biblical pattern of leadership and responsibility, we believe the offices of pastoral leadership and primary doctrinal authority are reserved for qualified men. However, this biblical order does not diminish the essential role of women in the church's ministry. God has called and gifted women to lead, teach, and disciple other women and children, and we actively encourage their participation in these and many other vital areas of service. Together, as one body under Christ our Head, we seek to grow in maturity and fulfill the Great Commission. [13]

  • We believe that God created the human race as male and female. As such, He created them differently so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between a man and a woman as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. Therefore, we perform marriages in accordance with the Word of God [14]

  • All human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death [15].
